A suicide attacker hit a minibus in the Afghan capital, Kabul, early on Monday, killing at least 14 people with Nepali citizens feared among those dead, international news agency Reuters reported.
The agency reported that a yellow minibus was hit by a suicide bomber in the Banae district of Kabul city early at 6 this morning.
The identity of the dead, however, has not been confirmed. Afghan police said it was not clear whether the victims were Afghans or Nepalese security contractors. Afghan Interior Ministry Spokesperson Sediq Sediqqi said police was working to identify the victims.
Police and emergency services vehicles rushed to the scene and carried out several injured people from the mangled minibus.
BBC reported the attacker was on foot and waited for the bus to leave the compound housing the security contractors. Taliban has claimed the responsibility for the attack. The attack is said to be in revenge for execution of six Taliban prisoners.
