Multitalented Singer Gurung : From Singing to Modeling

Anu Gurung is the famous name who has established herself in the field of music in Nepal. From her untiring and continuous effort, she has been successful in making her unique and different identity in the field of folk music of Nepal.

Anu who was born in Dibung-9, Gulmi, a remote part of western Nepal has made Kathmandu as her work place. She has spell bounded the audience by bringing more than a dozen of her music albums in the market. Some of her famous albums include &amp,quot,Najaraiko tirale & amp,quot, &amp quot;Bageko Kholi", Bajai deu taali tarar & amp,quot, &quot Nanu Timilai & amp;,;, &amp,quot, Teejko Dar Khane&amp,quot, & amp,quot,Aamako Yaad & amp,quot, & amp;quot,Kauda ra Kholi Vaye&quot, "Timilai Antim", "Sunkai Baala", etc. Singer Anu is famous in the field of folk- duet although she possesses an ability to sing different genres of music beautifully.

These days, she is usually busy in different programs ranging from stage shows to musical fairs. Ms. Gurung who has given her magical voice in dozens of hit songs has herself been modeling in the music videos in addition to singing. According to her, she wants to take singing and modeling simultaneously ahead in order to reach her final destination in this field. Miss Gurung who likes to identify herself as the singer and the model is rich in physical beauty as well as possess a large heart according to her fans. Her simple,cheerful and amiable natures are her assets. She has got number of awards and honors in many programs.

She says that music is her life; music is in her blood and in every beats of her heart. May be due to this kind of her attitude, she has been able to be recognized as a multitalented, versatile singer and model. She further added, "I am more inclined to folk music as I feel that folk culture is our assets.So, I think, it is our responsibility to preserve and promote them".
